Heterogeneous System Architecture (HSA) on ARM

10:00 AM–10:45 AM on Wednesday, Jul 10, 2013

HSA (Heterogeneous System Architecture) offers a new approach to address many of the issues that plague other GPGPU solutions such as Renderscript, Cuda and OpenCL.  HSA is the product of the HSA foundation http://hsafoundation.com

An HSA implementation includes Kernel support for the runtime plus drivers, and user space portion which includes libHSA, a finalizer for HSAIL to native ISA translation and llvm support to compile to HSAIL the HSA intermediate hardware neutral representation.

HSA standards documents are starting to be published such as the Programmers Reference Manual. http://hsafoundation.com/standards/

This session will explore the various efforts needed by the ARM community to implement HSA.
